This is IT is an exhibition the sits on the nexus between IT & art. The exhibition features collaborative work between women in tech and artists. The artists are paired up with women in tech to create collaborative artworks that are inspired by a fusion of tech /code / technical aspects and/or the women in tech. The artworks will take a range of formats from artworks with interactive technologies to physical works with online components and VR. The exhibition will be presented at an actual gallery with an online gallery site and possibly in VR format in the streets around the gallery.
I will be talking to Art Galleries about ways in which they can make the gallery experience more virtually interactive and provide an online interactive element to the exhibitions. This will be an open project for all interested women in tech. The project will showcase the abilities of women in tech and also show Art Galleries the advantages to utilizing more tech in their exhibitions.
The world of Art and the world of IT are still quite separate, this undertaking aims to develop and facilitate the exchange and interaction between the two and provide a mainstream fusion. To date there is starting to be an overlap between the two worlds and artwork that incorporates aspects of IT is well received by the public, and also well covered by the media due to its uniqueness. However there needs to be more artwork, art galleries, and artists utilising tech. There needs to be more focus on a fusion between art & IT. This fusion I refer to will come about through organised interaction between women in tech and the art world.
